Sticks And Stones

This is not about name calling, but rather about actual sticks and stones.

It’s an odd thing that through all the generations of man (I presume) kids have placed ownership and sentimental value to sticks and stones.

Perhaps there’s a genetic link or deep seated need for humans to “own” things, and the prevalence of sticks and stones makes them a natural and obvious choice for a little humans first attempt at possession.

In any case I’ve had actual stand up fights with each of my kids as to why they can’t keep a stick and why the stones need to stay in the backyard.
