Find Your Thing

We all have our thing, that special something that helps us chill. For some of us it’s a long quiet walk or run, a game of golf, or simply some TV over a nice glass of scotch.

Whatever that thing is you have to find it, especially as a stay at home dad.

“Don’t underestimate the value of Doing Nothing, of just going along, listening to all the things you can’t hear, and not bothering.” —Winnie the Pooh (A.A. Milne, English author, 1882-1956)

Winston Churchill enjoyed long baths, drinking liqueur, and socialising. That’s not for all of us, besides who has the time, the point is, find some time for yourself.

Benjamin Franklin finished his days with music and self reflection, often our downtime activity helps with the self examination stuff, while I run I often work stuff out in my head; what I could have done better, what I have planned for tomorrow, and even my longer time goals.

And according to rumours, President Kennedy, had a unique way to relax after a hard day’s work, wink. Now I’m certainly not saying this is acceptable, but the man knew how to wind down I guess.

Whatever your chill time involves make time for it; it’ll ease out the daily stresses, give you some alone time, and allow you some time to think.
